From the very beginning, our vision for BBQ Capital was to build more than a firm, it was to create a foundational support system for the world's most ambitious founders. Over the last decade, we have deployed capital into category defining businesses.
Nemanja Kostic
General Partner
Nemanja is the founder and General Partner of BBQ Capital, where he leads the firm's investment strategy and its partnerships with founders. He started BBQ Capital in 2017, turning a series of San Francisco rooftop barbecues for founders and operators into a venture fund that writes first checks and backs ambitious teams from day one.
Before BBQ, Nemanja was a two-time founder, having built and operated companies across video games and marketing technology. He is based in San Francisco.
Buddy Shakhashir
Partner
Buddy is a Partner at BBQ Capital, where he leads the firm's growth-stage investing and has helped shape the portfolio since joining in 2019. He brings more than a decade of experience across the technology industry as both a founder and an active angel investor.
Prior to BBQ, Buddy was a Venture Partner at Soma Capital and the founder of InVibe in London, following an earlier exit in 2013. He is fluent in five languages and splits his time between Dubai and San Francisco.
Jigney Pathak
Principal
Jigney is a Principal at BBQ Capital, where he focuses on early-stage investing and works closely with founders across the firm's pre-seed and seed portfolio. He joined BBQ as an Analyst in 2023 and was promoted to Principal in 2024.
Prior to BBQ, Jigney was at LAUNCH, early-stage venture platform, where he worked with founders and contributed deal memos for the LAUNCH Syndicate. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the Schulich School of Business at York University and is based in Toronto.
